Commissioned by Midtown Detroit, the New Economy Initiative, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, in collaboration with Mindfield Productions, the Viaduct Project aimed to transform dark, underused underpasses into vibrant, light-filled pedestrian corridors.

As part of this initiative, we created Points of Origin, a permanent light sculpture beneath the 3rd Street railroad overpass. Drawing inspiration from Detroit’s street grids and patterns of movement, the installation spans four walls and over 160 feet, combining custom woodwork with layered LED lighting to celebrate the city’s legacy of transportation and connection.
